Preston-based IT company, String, is supporting Rainbow Hub - the Mawdesley-based charity which supports children with physical and neurological disabilities.
They recently took part in a Sky Dive on 6th August, organised by the Black Knights at their Centre near Lancaster - the longest running sky diving centre in the UK.
Some of the String team joined other brave participants and opted to increase their jump from 11,000 feet to 15,000 feet – the highest possible in the UK. They raised over £1,350towards the fantastic total of £12,600.
Sky diving is an amazing exhilarating experience and the day was also enjoyed by those whocame along to cheer on the brave participants.
Katie Starkey and Sam Gordon from String, who took part, said: “It was the scariest and most exhilarating thing we have ever done. The waiting around on the day for the right conditions was tough, but the experience will stay with us forever."
Steve Pickering String’s CEO, added: “The team at Rainbow Hub, consistently amaze us with the work that they do. Supporting them is the easy part – even if it does mean getting two of our team members to jump out of a plane! I am so proud of Katie and Sam for doing this, and for the friends, family, colleagues & clients who donated in support of this great cause.”
Lyndsay Fahey, CEO, Rainbow Hub, said “We are so very grateful for the support we receive fromString who not only help us with our IT but also take part in our events. We are delighted with such a fantastic result and cannot thank everyone enough for getting involved.
"It means so much to everyone at Rainbow – the team children and families. Without the support of companies like String we could not continue to provide and expand the services we offer.”
