Blackburn-based PM+M has acquired the Accrington office of Haworths Chartered Accountants for an undisclosed sum.
The Haworths team, which compiles the annual Hot 100 list in partnership with Lancashire Business View, will relocate from the Old Tannery in Accrington to PM+M’s head office at New Century House on Greenbank Technology Park in Blackburn in March next year.
Paul Spencer, a director at Haworths, will be joining PM+M as a partner. Mark Schofield, also a director, will remain for the transition period and assist with client introductions before focusing on managing the Haworths Settle office.
Paul Spencer said: "PM+M is a highly regarded name in the North West and offers a range of services to its clients which encompass and strengthen our own, as well as providing additional expertise in areas such as tax advisory, research and development tax credits, and corporate finance.
"Our hope is that joining PM+M will mean greater things for us and our clients. The increased resources, along with PM+M’s commitment to quality and people development, will ensure that we can continue to provide an exceptional client service.”
Jane Parry, managing partner at PM+M, said: "Haworths has an enviable reputation, so we are delighted to welcome the team and their clients to PM+M. We have known the directors of Haworths for many years and we see real synergies between the two firms as we share a client-focused approach, have similar cultures, shared values, and a range of complementary services. I’m confident this deal will add value and will help us to continue investing in and growing our East Lancashire presence."
