Resolution to Grant planning consent has been secured on a site off Ramsgreave Drive in Blackburn, paving the way for 63 new homes to be built. Resolution to Grant planning consent was secured on 18th June, with the sale of the land to developer McDermott Homes expected to complete in the coming weeks.
The site will consist of 63 detached homes, varying in size from 3 to 5 bedrooms.
The sale of the land was managed by Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors, who acted as agents advising the landowners on all aspects of the process.
Lea Hough’s involvement with the landowners began in 2014, when they first began conversations with the landowners to identify the land as a potential development site. From this point, their planning and development team advised on planning and technical issues, sourcing advice from a team of specialist consultants to undertake feasibility studies for the site.
The next stage involved discussions and consultation with Blackburn with Darwen Council to secure allocation of site the for development and Lea Hough were instrumental in the preparation of the Blackburn North Masterplan.
Richard Bailey at Lea Hough commented: “In spite of the recent Covid-19 crisis and talk of an impact on the housing market, this approval goes to show that housing developments are still proceeding. In fact, this has been the case throughout the last three months; developers are still looking for and completing deals on sites, and work is continuing on sites that were already underway, albeit at a reduced pace due to social distancing.
“Quality new housing is still in demand and the fantastic location of this site with its convenient transport links and easy access to the surrounding countryside will make for a popular site with a variety of house buyers.”
Lea Hough’s Planning and Development team have been involved in several land sales throughout Lancashire over the course of the last 12 months. Able to advise landowners at an early stage on the most appropriate course of action, or else becoming involved further down the line, for example when a site already has a planning application in process or has existing planning consents, the team at Lea Hough are highly experienced in helping to progress all types of land matters.
