Specialist PHX Training has appointed Lindsey Thornton to help develop its apprenticeship offering for Lancashire employers.
Lindsey has more than 20 years of experience working with government-funded training and apprenticeships, previously working for the North East Chamber of Commerce as its training and development manager and later as its regional engineering and distance learning manager.
The PHX team of qualified trainers delivers offline, online and face-to-face services at six training centres including Preston, Morecambe and Blackpool.
Lindsey, who joins the company as apprenticeships manager, will be responsible for implementing a diverse range of apprenticeships covering team leading and management, logistics and warehousing, employability practitioner and business administration levels 2-4.
She said: "An apprenticeship can lead to great things, they are more sought after than ever before because of the level of knowledge and skills an apprentice gains.
"This is so valuable in the world of work, giving them the competitive edge when applying for future jobs or progression up the career ladder. It is the best way to start your working life, I am 100 per cent behind apprenticeships.”
