Burnley-based Petty's has made the Zoopla Property Power 100 leader board, ranking at number 55.
Zoopla launched its live leader board to showcase those agencies most active on Twitter, taking into account activity such as followers, retweets and mentions. The aim of the board, which is to be updated on a weekly basis, is to highlight those which agencies that are active in order to encourage other agencies to take advantage of social media as a powerful PR tool to connect with their local markets and to build their profile and reputation.Director Ian Bythell said: “As an agency, we are always looking for new channels to promote our properties, whether that is via our blog, text message property alerts or our magazine Your Village Life. Social media is a natural extension of this and works as a fantastic tool that allows us not only to speak to our market but to listen to it too.” Petty’s shared the following tips for fellow businesses looking to get involved with Twitter: Don’t ‘sell’ and resist the call of the autofeed – nobody wants to read a stream of marketing information, however sharing content such as photographs, news and videos is a great way to keep your followers engaged. Share other people’s content. If you’ve found an interesting article or a tweet, sharing it with your followers is a great way to engage and build kudos with the author as well as keeping your own newsfeed relevant and interesting. Use the search function to find out what your market is talking about and engage. The popular topic might not be your industry or field but getting involved in this way helps put across your business’ personality. Don’t just interact with your market but engage with your industry peers and members of your business community too.
