Personnel Checks, which is part of the Cummins Mellor Group, has joined an elite group of firms that form the top 50 DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) umbrella bodies in the UK.
The firm achieved the feat following a ‘significant increase’ in the volume of criminal record check applications it submitted to the DBS (formerly the CRB).Personnel Checks has also dramatically increased the speed in which it is able to process application forms, with almost 60% of checks being returned within 48 hours and their current record for processing at DBS check is just 6 minutes.
The new status will allow the company to further develop and strengthen its relationship with the DBS as it will now have a dedicated account manager from the DBS who will make regular visits to its head office in Accrington.Customers will also benefit from the link-up as they will be notified even sooner of any changes to legislation or processes at the DBS, ensuring they are fully compliant with the DBS Code of Practice at all times.
Lead signatory and managing director Michelle Mellor said: “We are thrilled with this development and we hope this recognition reinforces to our customers how seriously we take the criminal record checking process and how passionate we are about safeguarding society. “Our aim is to guide our customers quickly and easily through the often complex work of DBS Checks. The safeguarding process which we conduct with the DBS team in Liverpool is an invaluable public service and one we are delighted to be associated with, and regular meetings and updates with our Account Manager will certainly help us to do this a lot more effectively.”Enjoyed this?
