Over 70 of East Lancashire’s most influential businessmen and women attended the launch of Pendle Networking, hosted by Ashberry Recruitment.
Following the success of Ribble Valley Networking, businesswomen Kath Bell and Gillian Taylor identified a gap in the market for a similar group in Pendle.Gillian, owner of Ribble Valley Security said: “Ribble Valley Networking has very quickly built up a dedicated group of networkers who enjoy the informal atmosphere of our events. Many of these people had spoken to Kath and I about how there was nothing similar to this group in Pendle so we decided to do something about it.
“Ashberry Recruitment were really supportive of this idea and worked with Barnfield Construction to secure a room for us at Barrowford Business Park for the launch event. We were delighted with the turn out of the event and the enthusiasm of everyone who attended. We are really looking forward to future events in the area.”Kate Mallinson, director at Ashberry Recruitment added: “We were overwhelmed by the positive response the Pendle business community had to the launch of Pendle Networking, even having to move to a bigger room than planned because of the number of people who wanted to attend.
“The evening provided a fantastic opportunity for people to introduce themselves to other business people from the area and offer their advice and support in a really informal atmosphere. It looks like Pendle Networking will be a regular date in the calendar from now on!”Vicky Ellis, who looks after East Lancashire recruitment for Ashberry, said: “I think the evening was a great success, meeting lots of new people and catching up with some familiar faces. A lot of people were nervous about talking to new people when they arrived but by the end of the evening had made lots of new contacts.” The raffle prize, a meal for two at Roaming Roosters donated by Ashberry Recruitment, raised a generous donation for the Pendle Food Bank.
