Pendle Hill Properties has sponsored Kiki Dee and Carmelo Luggeri playing an intimate concert in Burnley on the Queen’s Jubilee Weekend.

Kiki Dee is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars of British music. From her roots in Bradford, she used her soulful vocal talent to become a global star, and she was the first female singer from the UK to sign with Motown's Tamla Records. Probably her biggest hit was her duet with Elton John, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”, which cemented her as a household name, reached number 1 in both the UK and US, and remained at the top for six weeks in the UK.

Other career highlights include playing as support act to Queen at Hyde Park in front of a crowd of 150,000 people; performing her duet with Elton John at the 1985 Live Aid; and her song being chosen as the theme tune for TV’s Opportunity Knocks. She also had a successful career performing in musical theatre in the West End of London, even receiving an Olivier Award nomination in in the Best Actress in a Musical category.

Later in her long career Kiki began collaborating with songwriter, producer and guitarist Carmelo Luggeri, who had worked with Bill Wyman and Julian Lennon amongst others. They took on a new musical direction playing acoustic concerts, starting with an appearance at The Royal Albert Hall for World AIDS Day in December 1994.

For more than 25 years, Kiki and Carmelo have successfully toured the world with their unique acoustic-based ‘songs and stories’ show. This summer, for the Queen’s Jubilee Weekend, Kiki and Carmelo will be playing an exclusive, intimate concert in Burnley, as part of the Cliviger Sounds festival at the Kettledrum Estate in Cliviger. Just 250 tickets are available for the concert on Thursday 2nd June, and more can be seen here: www.clivigersounds.co.uk  with tickets available through Burnley Mechanics: https://burnleymechanics.ticketsolve.com/shows/873628746

Andrew Turner, MD of Pendle Hill Properties was delighted to be able to support the event through sponsorship. He commented: “Kiki Dee has been a huge star for years and I grew up with her music, so to be able to see her live in Burnley will be amazing. The show sounds really interesting and it’s a chance to see her close up. What a way to start the Queen’s Jubilee weekend off!”
