All the team at Taylor Patterson have been taking part in the Lancashire Cycling Challenge over the last few weeks.
The challenge saw work colleagues and organisations across Lancashire compete to see who could get the highest percentage of their team on a bike over a three week period.Gillian Bardin, managing director, said: “When I registered Taylor Patterson for the challenge I knew we had a few keen cyclists as well as a couple of the team who cycle to work but I have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for this challenge. We have even had staff whom have not been on a bike for 30 or 40 years taking part and proving that you never forget how to ride a bike!!”
Staff held a Tour D’Avenham event during their lunch hour where members of the team lent bikes to each other so everyone had an opportunity to take part. The event proved so popular that it had to be repeated. At the end of the challenge team TP came 2nd in the 20 -49 employee category winning Go Ape vouchers and personal training sessions. Many team members also received free cinema vouchers as well. In terms of numbers over the course of the three weeks Team TP achieved the following: 90% employee participation Cycled 1,118 miles Saved 365kg CO2 Further details about the challenge can be found at www.lovetoride.net/lancashire.
