The Oyster & Otter in Feniscowles played host to Community & Business Partners’ (CBP) fundraising lunch and celebratory event during National Volunteers’ Week.
Guests at the event enjoyed a lunch prepared by chefs at the Oyster & Otter before compere Rachel Haslam, founder and director of award-winning Team Academy, spoke and led an auction with prizes including a signed Burnley FC shirt and tickets to see Elton John. The event raised over £2,000 for Charities@SAMS.
“National Volunteers’ Week fits perfectly with our ethos of helping commercial enterprises flourish and encouraging greater corporate social responsibility, environmental awareness and social enterprise,” said Amanda Meachin, CEO at Community & Business Partners.
Charities@SAMS supports over 30 local charities, community and neighbourhood groups and good causes across Pennine Lancashire. “We were delighted to play our part in the success of the fundraising event and to hear so many inspirational stories of the wide range of voluntary work people do in our local community,” said Iain McTavish, general manager at the Oyster & Otter.
