npd, a leading UK product design agency, is excited to announce its relocation to a new, expanded studio in Preston.

This move marks a significant milestone in the company's growth and underscores its commitment to innovation, collaboration, and nurturing emerging talent in the North West and surrounding area.

Preston, recently described by historian Dan Snow on BBC Breakfast as 'one of the most important cities in the world, and one of the birthplaces of the industrial revolution,' provides the perfect backdrop for npd's forward-thinking approach to product design and innovation.

"This move represents a pivotal moment for npd," said Nathan Partington, CEO of npd.

"Our new Preston location offers expanded facilities, collaborative spaces, and room for growth.

"Its strategic position allows us to better serve our clients and work closely with emerging talent from local universities. We're excited to set roots in a city with such a rich history of innovation."

The new office space offers several key advantages that will enhance npd's ability to serve its clients and foster creativity:

Expanded Creative Workshop Space: The larger facility includes an increased workshop area, allowing for more extensive prototyping capabilities. This expansion will enable npd to bring ideas to life more efficiently and effectively.

Collaborative Environment: The new open, creative space facilitates collaboration between the npd team, clients, and partners, fostering the development of ideas designed to truly make a positive impact. Local businesses are encouraged to visit npd’s design space for inspiration on new projects and ideas.

Strategic Location: The central location, with easy access to the M6 motorway, enables npd to have more regular face-to-face interactions with clients. This increased facetime is crucial for project success, allowing for deeper collaboration and more responsive design processes.

Nurturing New Talent: The proximity to the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) opens up exciting opportunities for npd to engage with emerging talent. The company is committed to offering hands-on product design experiences to students, helping to shape the next generation of designers.

Room for Growth: As npd continues to see significant growth, the new space provides ample room for team expansion, ensuring the company can scale its operations to meet increasing demand.

This move is more than just a new space for npd.

It symbolises the company's commitment to growth, innovation, and creating products that make a positive impact. From the plastic-free Shift deodorant vessel to the off-grid energy storage solution FLEX-ESS, npd continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in product design, earning industry accolades along the way.

As npd settles into its new Preston home, the team looks forward to continuing its mission of creating better, more rewarding, and sustainable products for everyone involved.

The expanded capabilities and inspiring new environment will undoubtedly fuel npd's passion for solving real-world problems through thoughtful, purposeful, and award-winning design.

While the Preston location serves as the new headquarters, npd maintains its strong presence across the UK, continuing to operate studio and meeting spaces in Manchester and London, ensuring accessibility and collaboration with clients nationwide.
