Thousands of new jobs have been created in Enterprise Zones within the Northern Powerhouse in the past four years, according to new figures.
The figures, released today (Wed) by the government show that 8,000 new jobs have been created in the last four years, including 1,220 jobs created in the last three months of 2015, an increase of 18 per cent compared to the previous quarter.
The figures were released on the same day new Northern Powerhouse minister Andrew Percy begins a tour of the region to reaffirm the government's commitment to the project.
