Accrington based HR and employment law consultant NORI HR has recently increased its leadership team with the key appointment of two new statutory directors.
Lisa Struthers has joined as operations director, with Richard Singleton appointed marketing director.
NORI HR was founded in 2019 by husband and wife partnership Jason and Amrita Govindji-Bruce, who remain as joint managing directors. The business provides HR and employment law support and training to businesses of all types and sizes.
From being the sole employees at the start, Jason and Amrita have grown the business to employing eight full-time team members, gaining multiple industry awards along the way.
Operations director Lisa Struthers brings over 20 years of experience in managing and training large workforces within established organisations in the hospitality and service industries.
Lisa joined NORI HR in 2020, following a short spell working for HMRC and said: “I moved back from London to return to our family in Lancashire and pursue my ambition of developing a fledgling business into a nationally recognised and successful organisation.
“It was a strange start as within seven days the pandemic forced the country into lockdown. But we adapted well and straight away I could see the business had resilience and is capable of achieving great heights.”
“In the last 18 months we have moved to a new office, doubled in size, established a wide range of clients from local SME’s to national household names and secured key partnerships with influential stakeholders.”
Richard Singleton, a business coach, mentor and marketing consultant (owner of whY-us? Sales Marketing Management Solutions Ltd ) first met with Jason and Amrita in November 2019.
Richard said “I could immediately identify with Jason and Amrita being highly motivated and focussed individuals”.
“Having worked for leading national and international HR and employment law providers, Jason and Amrita are bringing an enormous wealth of HR and employment law experience into their own business, so I am here to support with business structure, direction and management”.
“They are very clear in their goals to develop a proud and successful business. As family owners, Jason and Amrita recognised the importance of ensuring business decisions are robust and not just emotional, so Lisa and I will be key to supporting with key strategic decision making”.
Singleton added: “It’s also important we ensure clients and employees never become just a number; a trap that many fast-growing, national providers often fall into. So I will be supporting the senior management team to develop NORI HR to achieve sustainable high growth through increased brand awareness, brand management and develop internal workflow processes and infrastructure to evolve our services and ensure clients and NORI HR employees remain the primary focus”.
Talking about the new appointments, managing director Jason Govindji-Bruce said: “We brought Richard and Lisa onboard as statutory directors because they have been with NORI HR since we started to evolve.
“Initially, we were a small business that was there to help myself and Amrita make ends meet. But we’re now a thriving business with significant plans for expansion. Richard and Lisa have each shown great loyalty to the company through difficult times. In addition, each brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across many fields, which allows the business to go from strength to strength while myself and Amrita focus on future plans to extend the group”.
