Family businesses sit at the very heart of Lancashire’s economy and are famed for their resilience, drive and innovation.
The businesses and the individuals who work in them continually rise to the numerous challenges they face in uncertain times and emerge ever stronger.
To recognise their importance to Lancashire we’re putting together a list of the county’s top family businesses and we’re asking our readers to help us identify them.
We want you to share with us the businesses you think deserve to be recognised for their work and their achievements.
In association with Beever and Struthers, we’re looking for businesses that lead in their sector, represent the best of family values and have vision. In short, we want to hear about ‘the best in class’.
From those nominations we will choose, with the aid of a specially invited panel, a list of those we consider to be Lancashire’s best family businesses in 2025.
We will publish them in our July/August issue to celebrate their efforts and the contribution they are making to Lancashire’s economy and their communities.
Lancashire Business View chairman Richard Slater said: “As an organisation we are proud to be a champion of family businesses.
“With the help of our readers we want to pay our tribute and show our appreciation for the efforts of those businesses in driving forward our economy.
“This is also a great opportunity for us to showcase some of the inspirational businesses that are making a massive contribution to the life and economy of Lancashire and to share their remarkable stories.”

Last year, Lancashire Business View did a Family Business article and Thompson Contracts featured.
