Accrington-based training provider North Lancs Training Group (NLTG) has extended its sponsorship of a classroom at Accrington Stanley Community Trust for a third year.
The successful community partnership, which began in 2021, provides education and training opportunities for students and young people throughout Hyndburn, including signposting students to appropriate courses.
NLTG and Accrington Stanley Community Trust work with young people in education, apprenticeships and traineeships, as well as both being part of #AmazingAccrington’s school visits. While Accrington Stanley Community Trust also provide full-time college courses.
As part of the school visits, NLTG managing director Gareth Lindsay and Accrington Stanley Community Trust CEO Martin Fearon, get the opportunity to speak to secondary school children from schools across the borough about the prospects available to them once they leave school.
Gareth said: “We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring the fantastic classroom at Accrington Stanley Community Trust for another 12 months.
“It is a partnership which we are extremely proud of and one that is really important and successful for young people in our community.
“Accrington Stanley Community Trust is a much-loved charity in Hyndburn and the work they do to keep children happy and healthy is crucial. We are keen to continue playing our part and signposting students to training and apprenticeship programmes, where they have plenty of choices and have that opportunity to develop.”
Martin Fearon, chief executive officer at Accrington Stanley Community Trust, commented: “The partnership we have with NLTG is incredibly strong and we can’t thank Gareth and his team enough for continuing to support us for another year.
“The opportunities at NLTG are extensive and to be able to signpost individuals there helps us massively in achieving our mission of supporting the local community through sport and education.
“With the new £1m expansion, we have more classrooms and meeting rooms to sponsor, plus businesses and community groups can hire them, so if any businesses want to support them, please get in touch.”
