North Lancs Training Group (NLTG), the Accrington-based training provider who also runs a Study Programme centre in Bury, recently donated £225 to Bury Hospice following a special raffle held at their quarterly team meeting.
Staff from NLTG purchased raffle tickets to win a hamper at the meeting, which was held at Accrington Stanley’s world-class hospitality venue, with apprenticeship tutor Michael Ormerod as the lucky winner.
The money raised from the raffle was handed over to Bury Hospice’s corporate fundraiser, Nina Camplin, by NLTG managing director Gareth Lindsay and marketing executive Evie Crawshaw.
Bury Hospice has helped thousands of people through some of the most difficult times in their lives with specialist, compassionate, and palliative end-of-life care. It costs them £4m to run their services, with a 13 per cent contribution from the NHS and the remainder being raised via fundraising, retail, and the lottery.
Gareth Lindsay, managing director at NLTG, said: “The work that Bury Hospice does in the community really is amazing, and anything we can do to support them and make a little difference is so important.
“We are passionate about fundraising here at NLTG, and we would encourage other businesses to get involved as well and raise money for such a worthy cause.”
Nina Camplin, corporate fundraiser at Bury Hospice, added: “We are very glad to have been NLTG's chosen charity and look forward to working with them in the future.”
