Blackpool and The Fylde College has launched a new website in a bid to better engage with staff and students.
The college’s site at www.blackpool.ac.uk has been redesigned to better meet the needs of customers. It comes after students, staff and employers took part in research to find out what they wanted from the college’s new website.
Those views were then used to create the revamped site, which includes greater accessibility from mobile devices, exciting audio visual improvements and increased engagement opportunities.Andy Iredale, Director of Customer Engagement at Blackpool and The Fylde College, said: “We spent a long time researching the full age range of our students and employer partners, asking them what they wanted to see in a website.
“Their time and support has been invaluable and I’d like to take the opportunity to express my thanks.“We already knew that being mobile device-friendly was key to the new site, but our customers expressed a real hunger for audio visual opportunities.
“We’ve begun a journey to stream rich photographic and video content on the web, including a partnership with Google which allows our customers to literally drive around and look round the inside of our campuses to get a real sense of the experience.”The site went live on Monday and includes:
• Fully responsive page layouts• New streamlined navigation system
• Redesigned course leaflets• Course A-Z
