Burnley headquartered logistics firm EFS Global has appointed Michael Steen Hanson as its new non-executive director.
The chief financial officer of international shipping business Portline Group has joined EFS with immediate effect in what is described as a key appointment for the company.
In a statement announcing the appointment EFS said: “Michael offers the group financial acumen and strategic foresight which positions him as a trusted advisor to the executive team and board alike.
“From optimising capital allocation to navigating complex financial landscapes, Michael’s multifaceted expertise ensures that the company’s financial strategies are not only sound but also aligned with broader organisational goals.
“With 16 years of experience in capital markets, treasury and wealth management, Michael comes with a wealth of knowledge.”
He was appointed chief financial officer at Portline Group four years ago with a focus on ship-owning, ship management and investments in the maritime space.
He also has strong international connections gained from working in Denmark, Germany, Singapore, and Hong Kong over previous years.
EFS Global has embarked on a growth strategy in recent years which has seen it make multiple acquisitions across England and Scotland.
