Brian Hurst, producer at Brian David Films, was commissioned to make a video demonstrating some of the recent projects funded by the Chadwick Trust.
Filming the project, Brian Hurst saw first-hand the difference the Trust has made. “This was a truly heart-warming project to be involved in,” he says. “It was incredibly moving to see the joy in the children’s faces as they spoke about their new playgrounds or the new books in their libraries.”
Although the orphanage building closed in 1961, the houses remained the property of the Trust, and trustees decided that the money generated from the housing, and from the sale of the orphanage land, should be used to benefit the children of Bolton.
Amy Liptrott from the Chadwick Trust, who is co-ordinating the celebrations, says: “Brian has been a real partner in our 150th anniversary celebrations and it has been a pleasure to work with him. “He has guided us through the process and the trustees are delighted with the final outcome, feeling it is a fitting legacy to the wonderful Dr and Mrs Chadwick."
