New Call Telecom, whose call centre employs more than 200 staff in Nelson, has placed 53rd in the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 list for 2015.
In 2010 New Call moved its call centre back from Mumbai, India to Nelson and established a joint venture with Burney College to establish the New Call Academy which offers apprenticeships to local young people. The scheme has now trained more than 30 young people and provides much-needed jobs in the area.
The company has seen rapid growth in the UK, recently acquiring WaveCrest, a UK-based voice wholesaler that also provides branded voice services to brands such as Tesco. New Call is also expanding in India where last year it acquired Nimbuzz, a mobile technology brand with more than 210m users across the globe, and Ozone Networks, Indian’s leading public W-Fi provider.
This is the first time New Call has appeared on the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 list which ranks Britain's 100 private tech companies with the fastest-growing sales over the latest three years.
