A sustainable food business has appointed two new members of staff in its farm shop, following the re-launch of its site earlier this month.
Retail outlet, Roaming Roosters, welcomes Craig Cole, butcher, and Connor Hartley, farm shop hand, both from Burnley.Mark Kelly, the new farm shop manager at Roaming Roosters, said: “I’m extremely excited that the Roaming Roosters team is continually growing, this enables us to move the business forward and build on our farm shop reputation; it’s a fantastic time for both Craig and Connor to join the team.
“Craig is the perfect fit, he has worked as a butcher since he was 15 years old. We work really well together, generating ideas and creating an infectious atmosphere within the workplace.”Craig joins the company having previously worked with Mark for several years in a butchers’ shop in Nelson’s Arndale Centre.
He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work with Mark again in a thriving and busy farm shop. The main thing for me is encouraging customers to understand the farm to fork journey and to consider where their meat comes from."Connor joined Roaming Roosters with aspirations to gain more experience within the butchery and animal care sector.
He said: “I enjoy getting involved in all different aspects of the business as it gives me a great overall knowledge. I look forward to working alongside some great members of staff and developing the Roaming Roosters reputation further.” Mark and the team are looking to develop all aspects of the expanded and new look farm shop, drawing on their skills and experience to implement new ideas such as fantastic, seasonal products and a stunning butchers counter to entice customers.
