A Leyland netball team is sporting a new kit thanks to a helping hand from leading law firm, Birchall Blackburn Law.
The Hough Lane law firm stepped in to sponsor the team, which has recently gained promotion to Leyland Sport Association’s Division One after securing an unbeaten record in Division Two.Birchall Blackburn Law contributed towards new kit and training fees. The legal supporter also donated water bottles to the team, which has since renamed to BBLaw Netball.
Originally formed by those wishing to get back in to the sport, a move to a more competitive division, signalled a need for support.Captain of BBLaw Netball team, Caroline Beardsworth, from Clayton-le-Woods said: “A group of friends originally set up the team with a view to playing for enjoyment. We quickly outgrew the league and realised if we wanted to play competitively, we would need kit and sponsorship.
“Birchall Blackburn Law’s investment means we’ve now got a new name and full kit to support our activity. We now hope to grow the team further and we are on the look-out for people with a love of the sport to get in touch.”Jamie Patton, partner at Birchall Blackburn Law, said: “As a firm which is always there for the local community, we are pleased we can assist a team in this way.
“Netball is such a popular sport and spans across all age groups.
