We are delighted to announce that Napthens is sponsoring the Family Business Award at the Red Rose Awards 2021, the eleventh annual celebration of the Lancashire business community.
With 20 categories open for entries, there’s something for all businesses in Lancashire to aim for. The Red Rose Awards celebrates business through sector specific categories, plus categories open to all such as employer of the year, customer service award and the innovation award.
Operating from offices across the north-west, Napthens provides a wide range of legal services to meet the needs of businesses and individuals. Napthens has been involved with RRA for many years now, over that time we have sponsored different awards and always enjoyed playing our part in supporting local businesses and celebrating the county’s success stories.
Kimberley Barrett-St. Vall, a partner at the law firm, shared why they have are getting involved.
RRA: What changes have you seen in the Red Rose Awards over the years that you have been involved?
KBS: I have seen the event grow, competition and standard of entry definitely increase. Last year (2019/2020) particularly the entries were of such a high standard the shortlisting and final decision was incredibly difficult for the judges.
RRA: What is the most rewarding part of being a sponsor?
KBS: Seeing how many amazing businesses there are in Lancashire; and how much the Lancashire business economy has to offer not just within Lancashire but extending way beyond. I feel privileged to listen to many stories of how these great businesses started, back bedroom at home to employing tens/hundreds of staff- just amazing!
RRA: How do you feel that the Red Rose Awards benefit Lancashire?
KBS: It raises the profile of the individual businesses but also Lancashire as a whole and allows businesses to share collectively in the success of our business community.
RRA: How do you feel that your involvement with the Red Rose Awards benefits your business?
KBS: It helps us get a better, more in depth understanding of what’s happening on the ground in the business community within Lancashire. It is also a great opportunity to develop connections and relationships with the other judges and businesses involved in the awards.
RRA: Do you have any words of advice for businesses who may be considering entering this year?
KBS: Not only is this an opportunity to win a prestigious award - the experience itself is invaluable. I have never met a business yet who hasn’t gained something from the process itself. Whether it be the experience of doing a presentation, allowing time to reflect on the business and what has been achieved; or as an employer enjoying the goodwill and “buzz” it creates amongst staff.
Since the awards were launched in 2011, it has steadily grown and become the centrepiece attraction for the business community.
Businesses interested in entering the awards have until August 20 to submit their entry forms. The finalists will be announced on September 10, and they will then be given the opportunity to put their best case to the judges on September 22 and 23.
