A former chef has taken over a popular town centre coffee shop in Chorley.
The Coffee Club, Market Street, has been acquired and renovated with a new kitchen and customer facilities on offer by experienced restaurateur Peter Rothwell.
Peter, who has more than a decade in the food industry including four as a chef at a Mediterranean restaurant, and six managing a fast-food restaurant, has purchased the business.
Peter, who also holds a degree in business information technology and has worked in the IT and retail sectors, was advised by Phil Wright, solicitor in the commercial property team at Napthens. Phil helped in the purchase of the business from its previous owners, and in negotiating a lease with landlords Chorley Borough Council.
Now Peter intends to operate the venue as a more family friendly location with an improved menu.
Phil Wright of Napthens said: “Peter has some great ideas for the Coffee Club and I’m sure it will go from strength to strength under his ownership.” Peter added: “After years working in the food trade I decided to combine all my strengths and training and start my own business. The opportunity came up to acquire the Coffee Club and it was the perfect time for me. My aim is to run a friendly, healthy coffee shop for the people of Chorley to enjoy.”
