Music Time in Poulton-le-Fylde has purchased its own home and will acquire additional instruments after enjoying a lockdown boom.
The business provides piano and keyboard tuition for more than 120 children and adults, and saw an increase in demand when learning a new instrument became a popular hobby during lockdown.
Now, with a £106,000 loan from Lloyds Bank, Music Time has acquired its own fully soundproofed music studio and invested in four new pianos and four keyboards. To support its growth ambitions, the school also plans to add a wider variety of instruments to its specialisms.
The business is owned by Louise Swarbrick, herself a one-time Music Time student, who then went on to teach at the school before taking it over in 2014 when her former piano teacher retired.
She said: “The past year has been incredibly busy for our business as more people have wanted to learn an instrument during the pandemic, so the time felt right to invest in our own premises."
Matthew Ruff, area business manager at Lloyds Bank, said: "Music Time is a fantastic business that’s attracting a growing number of budding musicians, thanks to the exceptional standard of teaching provided by Louise and her team.
"We’re pleased to support such a thriving business on its ongoing growth journey, and we will continue to champion independent businesses like Music Time in achieving their ambitions, as part of our commitment to help Britain prosper."
