More than 60 businesses gathered on the Fylde Coast for the launch of the latest issue of Lancashire Business View magazine.
The event, a new regular event fixture for LBV, brought together many of those featured in stories in the 70th edition of the magazine along with advertisers and suppliers. The guest speaker was Pauline Turner, managing director of the Chorley Group, an award-winning multi-franchise motors business which has dealerships across the county.
Pauline is the cover star of issue 70 and was recently named as one of the most influential women in the UK motors industry. She charted her rise through the business, from valeting to sales and management to the top job. And she also described how the Chorley Group grew from a muddy sales lot to the £130m turnover business it is today – and it is still growing.
Pauline put the success of the business down to providing excellent service, sharing ambitions with staff and seeing then seizing opportunities, but also being careful to select those that will pay off.“It means you need to be flexible in your approach to opportunities,” she said.
The launch party took place at The Dalmeny Resort Hotel, Lytham St Annes which sponsored the event.Richard Slater, publisher of the magazine, said: “This series of events gives face-to-face contact with those featured in the magazine where guests can learn from their successes.”
This was the first in a series of magazine launch events. Future events are: 4-6pm, 16 November 2016 at Mitton Hall 4-6pm, 18 January 2017 at Ribby Hall
