The managing director of Hippo Motor Group not only has the talent for setting up a successful motor leasing and sales company, he’s also pretty handy behind the wheel himself.
Taking part in the WRGB National Rally, Thomas Preston and his co-driver Andrew Roughead became the first Englishmen to win the annual event since it moved to North Wales in 2013. It was Thomas’ first WRGB victory as well as his first win in his new Hippo Motor Group sponsored Skoda Fabia R5.
“We had a problem on the Saturday when I went too quick into a left-hand bend on the third stage which resulted in us spinning and stalling. This lost us a bit of time but we were in a great position going into the three short stages on the Sunday and were desperate not to mess up our chances of winning.”
