Saturday September 10th between 10am and 4pm sees the return of Nelson Food and Drink Festival, with a number of fantastic free attractions including a kitchen demonstration area featuring local Caribbean chef Mama Shar, and some amazing local businesses and performers.
Danny Sebastian, TV star of Bargain Hunt and Cbeebies' Junk Rescue, is set to be the host for the day. He will be bringing his sense of humour and style to the day and creating a fun atmosphere for all the visitors - who may well recognise him from the small screen!
Just announced for the demonstration area are two demonstrations by local company Street Food Pizza, who make delicious hand made pizzas and pastas. They will demonstrate a pizza, then a pasta dish at two different times, and will also be bringing their Street Food van so visitors can purchase a selection of their dishes. There will be lots of stalls with things to try including pizza, fudge, donuts, coffee and ice cream. There will be a performance by the spectacular Desi Nach Bollywood style dancers, a funfair, face painting, a henna artist - lots to see and do!

Paul Sutton, Sales Director at Property Shop, said: "We love being involved in great events, and getting out and talking to people. We're really looking forward to being involved and the return of Nelson Food and Drink Festival! I'm a Nelson lad myself and spent many good years here, and I'm looking forward to seeing the town full, the Bollywood dancers, the demonstrations and some great food!"
Mohammad Kamran Latif, Chairman of Nelson Town Council, said: "The Nelson Food and Drink Festival is back in 2022 and better than ever. We have lots of stalls, activities and demonstrations, and hopefully lots of schoolchildren with their posters. I hope everyone takes the opportunity to take a look around Nelson and Shop Local - it's perfect to finish off the summer with Nelson Food Festival!"
Yasser Iqbal, Mayor of Pendle added, "These kind of events are always important for community engagement and for people to get involved. This invites everyone from the community, young and old. Food brings everyone together, and this is what we're trying to promote!"
