A new monthly meetup to encourage learning and networking around cutting-edge digital technology has been launched in Lancashire. The Lancashire Digital Tech Talks take place on the middle Wednesday monthly and will be delivered at different locations each month.
The aim of the meetup is to encourage those people working in digital technologies or interested in setting up a business in digital tech to come together, network and learn for a range of speakers. Each month, one industry and one academic speaker will share their experience and practical uses of technology.
The meetups are delivered on behalf of Lancashire County Council with sponsorship from one of Lancashire leading digital businesses Relative Insight.
Organised by Dan Knowles, the next meetup will take place in Chorley on March the 16th at the Strawberry Fields Digital Hub, with the theme of IOT – Innovations in Connectivity. “Lancashire is a hot bed of tech talent, and Lancashire County Council want to provide opportunities for those in the industry to meetup,” said Dan.
Each month a different location will host a new meetup with talks focussed on high level digital trends including AI, Machine Learning, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Deep Learning, Internet of Things, Blockchain and much more. “Our aim is to build communities where people come to learn, network and find opportunities to collaborate,” Dan continued. “There are some incredible meetup locations, and we can’t wait to get going.”
The next meetup will take place at Chorley’s Strawberry Fields Digital Hub from 6pm on the 16th of March. The theme is IOT- Innovations in Connectivity with a presentation from Niamh Allen, Sales and Marketing Director of IOT Horizon and Essa Anas who is a Lecturer in Mechatronics and Industrial Systems at UCLan.
