Monks adds to fleet

Mellor Brook-based waste management company Monks Contractors has invested in six new vehicles and trailers.

The company, which employs 70, has taken receipt of two new Scania tractor units and STAS trailers, with a further four Volvo FH tractor units and four STAS trailers due in the next few weeks.

Chris Monk, managing director, said: "We’ve picked up a number of waste management contracts with local authorities and waste companies this year, so we’re continuing to expand our fleet to manage growing demand for our services.

"The new vehicles will be serviced and maintained in our in-house workshop, where we employ a team of 12 workshop operatives to keep all of our fleet on the road 24/7."
