Miller Homes is concluding the first round of its 2023 Community Fund with a donation to Henshaws Society, a remarkable charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with sight loss and other disabilities.
The group has been granted a £500 donation from the builder. Since the launch of the initiative in autumn 2022, the homebuilder has backed nearly 100 charities and groups nationwide.
Established with a vision to make a difference, Henshaws has been tirelessly serving the community since its inception. The charity focuses on enhancing the lives of people with visual impairments and other disabilities through a range of innovative programs including education, training, and offering vital support services.
Part of the donation from the Community Fund will be directed towards Henshaws' ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive society, ensuring that individuals with sight loss can fully participate in their communities.
Mel Scholefield, fundraising development manager at Henshaws, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for this support, saying: "We extend our sincere thanks to the Miller Homes Community Fund for the generous donation. This contribution will further enable us to transform the lives of those facing challenges due to visual impairment and disabilities."
The Community Fund initiative was set up by Miller Homes in September 2022, for local groups to have the opportunity to apply for donations between a minimum of £250 and a maximum of £2,000 as part of the builder’s ongoing commitment to support communities. The second round of funding for 2023 has just opened.
Clare Noakes, Miller Homes’ sales director for the North West, added: “We are delighted that a portion of our funding will be used to support Henshaws in their mission to foster inclusivity and improve the lives of those they serve. At Miller Homes, we deeply value community spirit, and Henshaws exemplifies this spirit admirably."
