Popular Great Harwood venue, Mellows Lounge Bar & Eatery, will be giving away over 140 free slices of pizza and over 150 free bags of sweets at the Valentine's weekend ‘Hollywood In Harwood' event.
The unique pop-up cinema takes place from Friday 14th February to Sunday 16th February in the historic Mercer Hall, with nine free cinema screenings across the weekend, offering films for all ages.
Demand has been high for the tickets, with many of the screenings fully booked within hours. There are only limited places remaining, including for Saturday evening's showings of Smile 2 and Battle Royale.
All tickets can be booked here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/great-harwood-events-106004335241
Mellows will be running their extremely generous pizza and sweets giveaway at 7pm on Friday (14th), at 8:30pm on Saturday (15th) and at 3pm on Sunday (16th), with film goers encouraged to collect their treats as they enter Mercer Hall.
The offer will allow everyone attending the 7pm screening of Fall Guy on Friday (14th), the 8:30pm screening of Smile 2 on Saturday (15th) and the 3pm screening of The Little Mermaid on Sunday (16th) to either enjoy a slice of pizza or a bag of sweets.
Funded by UK Government's High Street Accelerator Pilot Programme and delivered by Hyndburn Borough Council, the pop-up cinema will be located in the disused swimming pool at Mercer Hall, with the screen 6m wide.
As well as the fantastic offer from Mellows, who are based at 12 Queen Street, those attending the cinema screenings are being encouraged to visit local eateries on the Great Harwood high street, with limited refreshments available inside the venue.
Brie Mine, Akela Street Food, Holy Cannoli, Mama Put, The Chantry and The Beach Hut Play Centre are just some of the local businesses that are encouraging people to join them before or after their film, as well as purchasing items such as graze boxes from Brie Mine to take into Mercer Hall or a coffee from Holy Cannoli.
Mark Birtwistle, owner of Mellows, said: "We are excited to support another fantastic event here in Great Harwood. Out footfall really increases when events are on and we can't wait for this one.
"We are keen to do our bit to support local events and we hope everyone enjoys their pizza and sweets whilst watching their films."
Councillor Noordad Aziz, deputy leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, said: "This is an extremely generous donation by Mark and the Mellows team and we can't thank them enough for their support."
These events are part of an exciting events programme delivered by Hyndburn Borough Council and funded by UK Government's High Street Accelerator Pilot Programme.
