Mayes, the Accrington based accountancy firm is celebrating after its coveted Investors in People (IiP) award was renewed for a fourth time.
IiP is a national standard which sets out a level of good practice for the training and development of people in order to achieve business goals, and the reassessment involved one to one and telephone interviews with staff, informal discussions within the office and examination of the company documentation such as business plans, appraisal documentation and training plans.
Commenting on the awarding of the status, Anne Parkinson, managing director at Mayes said: “We’re obviously delighted to have retained our IiP status. As a business it’s important that we have the systems and procedures in place to allow everyone from the administration team through to our financial specialists to deliver a first class service to our customers in the most efficient and effective manner.
“However it’s not just about the service we deliver to our clients; we invest considerable time managing and developing our team and ensure that we have open channels of communication to ensure they have the opportunity to grow and have a real career with us."
The IiP assessor highlighted a number of areas where Mayes had excelled including its team ethos culture, managers use of coaching and mentoring and the way it enables staff to achieve a very good work life balance.
Anne added: “Achieving the IiP standard enables us to achieve Platinum status as an official ACCA trainer. Our next step is to focus our attention on achieving beyond the standard and working with the team to achieve the next level, Investors in People Bronze.”
