The winners of the 2021 Red Rose Awards have completed an invitation-only masterclass delivered by a national training company as part of their prize package.
The seminar was delivered by Blackburn-based Sales Geek, which itself previously won three Red Rose Awards before going on to become a UK-wide success, doubling turnover in consecutive years and launching 13 franchises.
Each company that makes the final shortlist for the Red Rose Awards is given the opportunity to attend a Sales Geek masterclass exploring how best to present their business story to the panel of judges.
Each winning company is then invited to an additional class which encourages them to further explore their value proposition, in order to make more sales, recruit staff and achieve greater success.
Sales Geek founder Richard Few said: “The first time we entered the Red Rose Awards we left empty-handed. That was partly because we were such a young business and it wasn’t our time yet, but also because the judges told us that other companies had told more compelling stories.
“We worked on our pitch, returned the next year and won three awards. That’s testament to how important the story you tell is. It’s not just about facts and figures, you can write those on a form, it’s about engaging emotions. We didn’t want to keep this information to ourselves, and so we developed our masterclasses so that others can benefit, too.
“When several of the winners came over and told us that our masterclass had helped them create their pitch for the judges, I felt immense pride that we were helping Lancashire businesses to put their best selves forward.”
Stephen Bolton, commercial director of Lancashire Business View, which organises the awards, says: “We are extremely grateful that Sales Geek offered to deliver these masterclasses as part of the Red Rose Awards programme.
“We are building something which is so much more than just an exciting night and a great, locally-crafted trophy for the winners. With our masterclasses, networking opportunities and more, everybody who gets involved, whether sponsor, judge or entrant, gets something valuable in return.”
Entries for the 2022 Red Rose Awards are now open, with a Sales Geek finalists masterclass on offer for those who make the shortlist and an extra masterclass available to category winners. The closing date for nominations is March 18 and the prizegiving ceremony will be held at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on June 9.
