Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce has appointed marketer Mal Garnett as its new president, replacing Alistair Eagles.
Alistair, of Seatruck, handed over the reins after completing his two years in the role. The appointment was formalised at the organisation's AGM.
Mal, who runs Apparatus Marketing, will be supported by new vice president Jon Powell of Lancaster University.
Mal said: "Alistair has taken the Chamber to new heights and seen the membership increase significantly in his two years at the helm."
He also spoke of the area's potential to achieve 'something special'.
"Not only do we have the University of Lancaster’s Health Innovation Hub nearing completion, the Lancaster Quarter bubbling away but we also have the very real prospect of a world-famous ecological and environmental development, in the form of the Eden Project, getting closer to reality in Morecambe," he said. "This will really put us on the international map."
