Plans for new buildings have been approved for the 90-acre Frontier Park in Blackburn, owned by the Issa family.
The new developments will include four large-scale industrial and warehousing units totalling approximately 176,000 sq ft. There will also be one 5,000 sq ft and three 3,000 sq ft units designed specifically for start-up businesses.
Totalling around one million sq ft of new warehouse and industrial space being created, Frontier Park is the town’s biggest employment and commercial development of recent times. It is expected to have created up to 2,000 jobs by the time it is completed.
Preston-based PWA Planning successfully advised property and development company Monte Blackburn. Nelson-based Barnfield Construction has been selected as the main contractor on the project, and has already begun work.
Gemma Newall, senior planner at PWA Planning, said: "It’s been exciting for our team to see the transformation of this strategic site. These latest commercial developments will create further jobs and attract additional investment into the area and we’re proud to have supported them.”
