Magma Digital is delighted to announce the appointment of Barry Johnson as director of operations.
Barry has previously held senior roles at some of the largest companies in the North West, including a directorship at Martin Dawes and a head of IT position at Home Bargains.Barry's previous role was project manager with Ebay's Enterprise division, where his remit involved working with Europe's biggest retail companies across UK, Germany and Spain. He has a track record of high calibre performance and will strengthen Magma Digital's senior management structure.
Barry represents a significant coup for the software development company, with his technical experience spanning all the way back to 1978. During his time at Martin Dawes, Barry developed one of the first mobile billing systems, which serviced over a million customers before being acquired by Cellnet (now O2) in 1999.In his role as director of IT at Simon Jersey, he developed their celebrated e-commerce site, which won a number of industry awards for design and functionality. Furthermore, at Home Bargains, Barry was responsible for the systems which supported over 200 high street stores.
