A Lancashire solicitors firm is cutting prices and offering reduced fee packages to help local people access legal advice.
Curtis Law Solicitors has introduced limited costs for family legal services as many families are struggling to find professional help without financial support in the aftermath of legal aid cuts.Joanne Lever, family law solicitor at CLS, said it’s vital everyone is able to obtain the same professional support and assistance, no matter their circumstance.
“We’ve introduced reduced fee packages to allow those who are struggling financially to access the information and representation they need. Each client will be means-tested and offered reduced rates depending on their situation.“This applies to all our family services including divorce, separation agreements, financial settlements and child custody issues, allowing those who are most vulnerable to gain help.”
Under the reforms, which came into effect in April 2013, the criteria for accessing legal aid changed – limiting the help available for family legal matters. “Many families are forced to choose alternative routes to settle disputes as they can’t afford to speak with professional solicitors. We hope that by reducing legal costs we can work with our clients to achieve the results that they deserve,” Joanne added.Enjoyed this? Read more from Curtis Law Solicitors
