Pendle’s Business Person of the Year has hosted a celebratory BBQ and party for his hard working staff to mark Chantelle Lighting’s 25th anniversary.
Anthony Holly, who was named Pendle Business Person of the Year at this year’s Pendle Business Awards, opened a lighting shop on Padiham Road in Burnley in 1989.Since then, Chantelle Lighting has been based in a factory shop on Accrington Road in Burnley and manufacturing sites on Carrs Industrial Estate in Haslingden and Altham Industrial Estate, before moving to its current site on Lomeshaye Industrial Estate.
Anthony, who has now been joined at the company by his three daughters; Lauren, Harriet and Alex, said: “Lighting trends have evolved a lot over the past 25 years and so has the nature of our business. From starting out as a retail outlet, we moved into contracting, lighting installation and then manufacturing.”Over the past quarter of a century, Chantelle has worked with a wide range of well-known brands including Premier Inn, Wetherspoon’s, Scottish and Newcastle, the Hilton Group, Nando’s and De Vere Hotels. They have also worked on a number of recent city centre bars and restaurants including Smuggler’s Cove in Liverpool, The Botanist in Chester and The Oast House in Manchester.
Anthony added: “Our craftsmen and women create exceptional lighting pieces for a wide range of projects. I love interpreting designers’ ideas and creating something unique which will become a focal point for their venue.“As well as all of the national projects we have worked on I am really proud that our work is on display in so many venues locally including Crow Wood, Turners, the Fence Gate, Ninos at the Fighting Cock and the White Swan.”
To mark the company’s anniversary, staff were treated to a BBQ cooked by Anthony and received commemorative gifts. They then surprised the MD by presenting him with a cake for his 50th birthday. Anthony said: “The BBQ and party was an opportunity to thank the team for all of their hard work and to look back at our achievements over the past quarter of a century. We are now looking forward to continuing to grow the business and discovering new lighting trends over the next 25 years!”
