Foodies gathered at a Barrowford cookery school to pick up top tips for the party season.
Aspiring chefs from local businesses attended the complementary demonstration event at Paul’s Kitchen, Church Street.Owner, Paul Dickson, treated the 20 guests to his expert advice and some even got involved in creating some of the party food on offer.
Paul said: “The beauty of Paul’s Kitchen is that it is based in my own home, so instantly people feel relaxed and at home themselves.“It was a fantastic atmosphere and my guests really got involved both helping in the demo and asking lots of questions.”
First item on the menu was quail’s Scotch egg, followed by scallops wrapped in bacon with spiced butter.Guests then had the opportunity to taste the sample dishes with a glass of prosecco while asking Paul their culinary questions.
Paul added: “The cookery school concept is unique to the area and I think people like the intimacy of coming into my home for lessons, demonstrations among friends and private dining experiences, whether here or at their own homes.” Guest, Sue Catlow, said: “It was a really relaxed, enjoyable Saturday morning, I love to cook and have my own trusted favourites, but it’s always nice to try something new; especially at Christmas time.”
