The bold newspaper front page headline declared “This is Our Time” in a loud and uplifting rallying call to get Bradford behind its UK City of Culture campaign.
An editorial declared the bid’s success would bring millions of pounds of investment pouring into the West Yorkshire city, and with it “significant long-term social and economic impact on businesses as well as communities and individuals”.
Editor Nigel Burton said: “Winning the City of Culture bid would give the whole district a huge shot in the arm so soon after the pandemic. It will be a wonderful showcase for our city.”
