Chartered surveyor Lea Hough & Co has helped ten academy schools to secure funding for building and improvement projects in a recent round of government bid applications.
Over the past three years, the Preston-based Chartered Surveyors have helped schools across the North West to access funding worth over £7m. Specific projects that have been approved for this year’s round of applications include refurbishment of science facilities, renewal of roof coverings, window replacement schemes, safeguarding works, fire alarm replacement and toilet refurbishments.
Having developed a niche area of specialism in the education sector alongside their residential and commercial surveying, planning and project management services, Lea Hough has been helping schools and academies apply and successfully ascertain funding through the CIF scheme for the past three years.
“With budgets being tightened across other areas, schools that are able to access funding for building works will be able to extend their budgets further into other much-needed improvements to resources and facilities, which can only be a good thing for the education sector in our area.
