LCWS recently had a visit from Shuttleworth College D&T pupils to come and have a look around how their recycling process works and how their sister companies, Rapid IT's refurbishing process works.
After giving them a tour, they got to pull apart a computer themselves to help learn about what components and materials make up a PC. They also got to crush a hard drive, learn about health and safety in the warehouse and then had a pop quiz to round up the trip.
The students really enjoyed the visit and gained a real insight into how both companies work and how the different job roles play integral parts within the business.
They have now been set an upcycling challenge to create something new out of an old desktop case.
