It's always difficult to find somewhere new to celebrate your Christmas office party.
Pull straight off the M6 at junction 31 and within minutes you find yourself approaching a long drive, on your right you see a beautiful lake, the winter sun glistening on the water and suddenly emerging you see a beautiful cluster of buildings, floating on the lake.
Amongst these awards, the magnificent architecture granted Brockholes a prestigious RIBA award, putting it the same league as the Olympic Stadium.
The reserve itself, although still in its infancy has become a nationally important site for breeding birds. In the winter, the reserve is brimming with over-wintering birds such as pink footed geese, curlew and oystercatcher. Roe deer can also be seen bounding around the site.
As it’s the season of good will and giving, you can also be assured that the money you spend while at Brockholes, goes back into protecting the nature reserve – so you really can eat that Strawberry Pavlova, guilt free. Brockholes is easily accessible from the M6 and only 10 minutes drive from Preston train station. Bookings are now being taken for Christmas lunches and parties, visit www.brockholes.org for more information.
