We are pleased to announce that the new and innovative online platform Go Trade Local is now live!
This free to use tool for Tradespeople & DIYers all over the UK allows you to choose from over 360 products & categories, find the most local Tool & Plant Hire depots, Builders Merchants & Skip Hire companies, request prices and more.. all in a matter of seconds.
We asked the chairman and co-founder Martin Ainscough CBE DL, formerly of Ainscough Crane Hire, why is Go Trade Local a game-changer when it comes to sourcing prices and products, whilst also being a benefit to local businesses and the environment;
“The way we treat and view our environment heavily impacts on how we live and work. It’s vital that together we do what we can to sustain our wonderful planet and support our local economies by shopping locally as much as possible. What makes Go Trade Local different is that the platform is loyal to local and users will always find their most local stockist or branch in relation to the product they have searched for. In turn, this saves money and time and is more environmentally friendly because it can help reduce travel.”
Young entrepreneur and marketing guru Harry Longworth - Go Trade’s other co-founder pointed out that he and Martin had the ambition from the outset of wanting to reshape the Construction Industry, into one that supports and works more within its local communities. Harry explained that the initial idea evolved and that it has become the perfect platform for Tradespeople and DIYers all across the UK;
“Martin and I had the joint vision of helping to put local businesses at the fingertips of our users. Not only can customers get in touch with them directly using the contact details on their online profile, but they’re also able to request prices using the handy ‘Price Comparison Tool’. Go Trade Local isn’t just an online directory and price comparison site, it is also a marketing partner. Our mission is to help businesses grow, increase their profits & help to reduce our carbon footprint and improve our environment, all at the same time!”
The Go Trade Local website is free and easy to navigate and has great features such as the Price Comparison form & the Map Search tool.
So how does the Price Comparison aspect work?
Go Trade Local users are able to request prices from their local partners in just a few clicks. All they need to do is fill in the few boxes on the form with their relevant answers, these include the product they’re looking for, quantity, postcode etc..
The system then automatically passes this request to 5 of the most local relevant partners in the given area. Once these partners receive the enquiry, they’re able to respond accordingly and work with the customer directly to discuss their prices & availability.
What’s the benefit of using the Map Search Tool?
The Map Search system has been designed to always put local first! Users of the platform are able to choose from the vast array of products listed on the site and chose their precise location, wherever that may be. Once they’ve clicked ‘Show Results’ the most local results will then appear with the addresses, contact details, business name & more on display so as you are able to see exactly how far away they are from each company and their depot/branch.
So whether the user is familiar with the area and is just looking for a contact number, wanting to find out who’s open now or have no idea who to use but need to source something - the Map Search results are there to help!
From working on a building site in St. Andrews to Home DIY in St. Ives, Go Trade Local connects customers directly with their local stockists. It has the potential to quickly become the number one must-have tool for any job, anywhere, anytime.
Although Go Trade Local is in its infancy it has already received great feedback from not only Tradespeople and DIYers but also from the Facebook groups On The Tools, On A Budget and even from the current Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, who said…
“I am delighted to see the launch of the new and innovative company ‘Go Trade Local’; it will be a valuable and useful resource promoting local businesses for tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts across the UK. It is important to support local, not only for the good of the economy but also for the wellbeing of the communities around where local businesses are located.”
It’s clear to see how the consumer can benefit from using Go Trade Local but we asked Stuart Clewlow, Business Development Manager at Go Trade how it was advantageous for the businesses;
“When businesses sign up to Go Trade Local and create their profile, it is like having their own mini-website. The profile highlights their depot or branch and can include images, corporate videos, opening hours, location and of course, their products. Particularly for small or independent businesses, this is a simple and inexpensive way to have an online presence and could make the difference to overcome the current difficult economic situation and see their business thrive as it becomes more visible and to a wider audience.”
