Lancaster University hosted the annual conference for the British Universities’ Finance Directors Group (BUFDG).
The conference is recognised as the must-attend event of the year for over 120 finance directors from higher education institutions across the UK.The conference utilised many venues across the campus demonstrating the versatility of spaces at Lancaster. The George Fox Complex was chosen for its refreshment, exhibition and lecture theatre space whilst Barker House Farm was used for networking events and relaxed evening dining. On the final evening, a formal gala dinner was held in the modern, open plan LICA Building.
The event was deemed a “huge success” by BUFDG with a total of 220 delegates in attendance including HEFCE, banks, fund managers, rating agencies and other sector bodies. Speakers included our own Professor Bill Davies and Professor Sir Cary Cooper.Sarah Randall-Paley, Lancaster University director of finance said: “Lancaster put on a very impressive show, the grounds, facilities and catering were all cited as seriously impressive and, as I expected, a number of the delegates had never been here before. "This meant that the impact of putting our best foot forward was particularly great. It is another step in putting Lancaster firmly ‘on the map’ with quality in everything we do. Every member of staff involved over the two days displayed their pride for Lancaster and a willingness to go the extra mile to make sure that things went well."
