Most prominent is the announcement that the Todmorden Curve rail link between Burnley and Manchester is to re-open. A joint bid for nearly £9million from Burnley Council, the county council, Barnfield and Network Rail will reinstate 500m of track and also regenerate the Weavers Triangle area.
The east of the county also secured £7.5million through Regenerate Pennine Lancashire to support high-growth business while Accrol papers landed £1.5m to add to its production capacity and create more than 100 jobs. And in Darwen, Lucite International secured just over £2m to develop its site.
Meanwhile, the North West Aerospace Alliance led a bid for nearly £5m to develop new technologies which is expected to create 250 jobs.
Before funding is confirmed by the department for business Innovation and Skills (BIS), a process of due diligence will take place.
