Amanda Melton, principal and chief executive of Nelson and Colne College, Accrington and Rossendale College and Lancashire Adult Learning, has been appointed to a new UK-wide independent commission launched to help shape colleges in the future.
College of the Future will be chaired by Sir Ian Diamond, who previously led a review which saw the overhaul of Higher Education funding in Wales and the introduction of maintenance grants to cover costs for full-time and part-time students.
