The Pendle YES Hub has successfully bid for £10,000 from the National Lottery’s Community Fund to enable Lancashire Mind to continue delivering free mental health and wellbeing coaching for young people in Pendle.
The £10,000 grant will allow for tailored, one-to-one wellbeing coaching for young people aged 16 to 24, who experience low mood, anxiety and poor mental health, with the aim of helping them to re-enter the world of employment or further education.
Lancashire Mind has been supporting the Pendle YES Hub for the past twelve months, which is a partnership with Active Lancashire and PAC, delivering the service on behalf of Pendle Council.
Colin Whittaker, wellbeing coach with Lancashire Mind, said: “Wellbeing coaching can boost young people’s self-confidence and help them to identify and overcome personal barriers to success.
“Young people across the county are facing a very difficult time and these services can be a lifeline for those in need of extra support. Tailored support encourages young people to design and achieve new goals to find a happier, more fulfilled life.”
Colin added: “Working with the Pendle YES Hub over the past twelve months has proved very beneficial, and we have made great progress with a number of young people living in Pendle. We are absolutely thrilled that the service can continue for another year and look forward to supporting as many young people in Pendle as we can.”
Individuals can be referred to the service following an initial assessment by Pendle YES Hub staff.
