Lancashire Mind is encouraging local businesses to join its annual Morecambe Cross Bay Walk on Sunday 30th July 2023 to raise funds for the mental health charity and to support positive mental health within the workplace.
The unique experience will be led by The Guide Over Sands Trust, offering safe passage across the bay from Arnside to Grange.
Lancashire Mind relies on the fundraising efforts of businesses and individuals to continue to provide their services across the county, and every step across the bay will help to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
Emma Bateson, Lancashire Mind’s fundraising lead, said: “Lancashire businesses are always hugely supportive and a key part of our fundraising efforts. Parts of the walk may be slightly challenging but that also makes it enjoyable and that's where the teamwork can come into play. You really have to work as a team, encourage each other, offer support and encouragement and hopefully have a laugh and enjoy yourself too.
“It’s a great opportunity for teams to connect with one another and get active outside of the office, while taking in the sea air and scenic views of the bay. It’s a refreshing end to the week.”
Lancashire Mind’s team of expert trainers have supported over 2,500 employees this year, helping local employers to realise their key role in supporting positive mental health within the workplace.
David Dunwell, Lancashire Mind’s CEO, said: “With more and more businesses prioritising mental health and wellbeing, this is something a bit different that you may not have necessarily considered before. An opportunity to engage with your employees and work colleagues in an environment away from work and in a fun way. It can be a real team building experience.”
The Bay Walk is suitable for adults, older children (8+), and dogs who can walk the 6-9 mile distance. Ticket prices are just a £15 donation - £5 going to The Guide Over Sands Trust and £10 to Lancashire Mind.
